As the lighter, more nimble cousin to the Duke, the Baron has earned its stripes as a favorite amongst big mountain, backcountry enthusiasts. New for this season, the Baron EPF features the Extended Power Frame (EPF) previously found only on the Duke. Featuring a 4-13 DIN range, the Baron also gets the Duke's updated Triple Pivot Elite toe and Inter Pivot heel. Besides the lower DIN range, the Baron differs from the Duke in that it does not have Magnesium parts.
The newly designed Inter Pivot Heel has an industry-leading construction delivering superior holding power for all types of freeskiing. Its design focuses power in the direction of the boot sole, increasing elasticity. The overall design focuses on optimum power transmission.
With a horizontally oriented spring, the Triple Pivot Elite Toe provides the highest energy absorption to reduce the risk of early release. The secure purchase on the boot lug optimizes power transmission and allows for durable, high energy use. The performance to weight ratio of the Triple Pivot toe is truly unmatched in the industry. This toe piece has SoleId which accepts both alpine boot soles and AT boot soles.
